What does a typical day look like for our licensed practical nurses?
Workdays are fairly stable and predictable. In general, we spend 15 minutes per patient.
Our centers areself-sampling centers, so for oral and anal samples, people manage on their own with the help of posters and iPads. However, you will be responsible forblood samples— if you already have experience, that's a big plus!You accompany patients throughout the screening process, answer their questions and address their concerns, reassure them, perform administrative tasks to ensure that everything is properly identified in our systems and on samples, and keep the premises clean, welcoming, and sterile.
Do I need to know a lot about sexual health to apply?
No need! Of course, if you already have some experience, that's a plus, but it's not required. We provide support for our licensed practical nurses to help them develop their expertise, and you'll always be just a phone call away from our team if you have any questions. Experience with blood draws is a big plus!
What is the salary and what benefits are offered to licensed practical nurses?
In January 2026, the starting salary is $28.00/hour. We offer a benefits program for people working 25 hours per week or more, including group insurance, a pension plan, and some other great programs.
In terms of vacation time, our licensed practical nurses start with three weeks (6%), plus five paid flexible days off to take time for themselves and recharge their batteries.
Can I work in more than one clinic at a time?
Yes! Especially in Montreal, our licensed practical nurses may be called upon to work in different clinics. The good news is that they are all easily accessible by public transportation or have parking available.
The exact details will be confirmed during the recruitment process and specified in the job description.Are there many opportunities for advancement?
It's possible, but it's not automatic. In our larger clinics, some people become head nurses and take on more responsibility. We also have a small administrative team made up of nurses and LPNs who work on larger projects. With motivation and leadership, it's achievable!
